Maya Moore Adamidou researches intersections of theatre, dance, media, visual arts, and critical theory. She has a research degree in Dance Movement Therapy from Codarts University of Arts, and a research degree in Performance Studies (Dance) from the University of Malta. She is getting inspired from her background as interdisciplinary-arts practitioner, researcher, creative arts psychotherapist and pedagogue. Her work includes running groups with amateur and professional performing artists, physically and mentally challenged people, and many more. She is running Media Performance Think-Tank, a research lab for performing and media arts and Beyond Arts Platform, a community-arts based working group.
Energetic, inspirational, democratic, caring and direct as teacher. Intuitive, pioneering, curious and nourishing collective creativity as artist and choreographer. Empathetic, flexible, assertive, attentive and real as therapist. Thoughtful, committed to self development, cheerful, loyal, vital and fundamental in relationships as person. These are some of my qualities and skills in every role that I embody in life.
My interest towards the human nature brought me to study a variety of subjects such as performing arts, creative arts psychotherapy, fundamentals in medicine, human rights advocacy, and visual arts among others. Get inspired by the notion of presence and interdisciplinary art-work, by incorporating the belief that every person has an inherent creative ability to fulfill his/her own potential and that the well-being of an individual is connected with as much as possible equal society, which tries to provide opportunities for everybody, in relationship with nature in the times of an unbalanced global world.
